Biography:

Richard comes from England and holds an MA in TESOL from the Institute of Education in London, a Postgraduate Diploma in Technical Translation and a Bachelor Degree in Humanities.  He also speaks Spanish, French, Indonesian, Thai and fossilised Chinese. Richard has over 15 years experience teaching Academic, Technical, Business and General English to adults in Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the UK, Macau and now China. 

 

After leaving England in 1990, Richard worked as both a teacher and translator in Spain.  Richard moved to Taiwan in 2000, where he taught English to University students on campus and via the Internet and prepared students for the IELTS exam for five years, before joining the Institute for Tourism Studies in Macau as a full-time Lecturer in January 2006. Now that he is in beautiful Suzhou, happily working at XJTLU, students will surely benefit from his wealth of experience in teaching English. Richard is also currently developing interactive CLIL (Content language integrated learning) based web sites, which is his main area of interest in teaching.
