Biography:

Start date at XJTLU: September 2009

Julie Bobic is originally from Montreal, Canada.   She began her career teaching English as a foreign language in Florence, Italy, in 1999, where she was a private tutor to children and adults.  In the ten years since, she has worked in South Korea, Malaysia, Oman, and Kenya teaching English to learners of widely diverse backgrounds.

Julie is particularly interested in the use of drama as a vehicle for language learning and how drama can provide unique contexts for meaningful language production, involving learners physically, emotionally, and cognitively in the language learning process, as well as giving them a chance to develop confidence, fluency, communicative skills and cultural knowledge.

She presently teaches on the Year 1 programme at XJTLU.
