The mathematical and computational sciences are among the major research strengths of XJTLU. The Department is strongly committed to excellence in research and teaching. This is a lively and friendly department for undergraduate, postgraduate and research students with a reputation for student achievement and success. Our academic staff are internationally recognised for their high quality research output in a number of areas of modern mathematics.
The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers a Bachelor degree programme at present - Financial Mathematics. New programmes will be introduced in future years.
Financial Mathematics programme is open to both science and arts applicants. The programme structure at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University is equivalent to that offered by the University of Liverpool. The related programme offered by the University of Liverpool is highly recognised by the British Higher Education Quality Assurance Agency. The modules of the programme, which have been innovatively designed in accordance with the advancement of technological and educational theories, reflect the latest developments in this field.
