Surf zone, a monthly English magazine, was established by the student association—Magazine club in 2006 under the guidance of the English Teaching Centre of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. Each issue contains various interviews all carried out by the students themselves with other students and teachers on current teaching, learning and social events. It also provides the latest news and sports along with sections on food and drink, healthy living, fashion and overseas experiences. Surf zone aims at becoming an all-round English magazine which provides a platform for foreign teachers and students to communicate and share their experiences in XJTLU and provides English fans an English communication space.
