XJTLU is a Sino-Foreign cooperative university created with strong cooperation between Xi’an Jiaotong University and the University of Liverpool and is the first and only one of its kind approved by the Ministry of Education in China. The University offers undergraduate degree programs in the fields of science, engineering and management, and awards both its own Chinese degree and a degree from the University of Liverpool. 

Students of XJTLU are treated as “young adults’’, we believe that a diploma is only a by-product of academic studies and emphasize the healthy growth of students and call them to be used to interest-driven learning.  

“Student first” is the principle we are observing in the implementation of our quaternity tutorial system as well as student management system which encourages student autonomy with the support from the University 

All of our degree programs are taught in English and with a comprehensive teaching quality monitoring system in place, students are able to receive up-to-date knowledge while having a unique learning experience. 

With an internationalized teaching & learning environment and faculty, XJTLU looks to hire high-level talents from across the globe, up to the same high standards as world-famous universities. Currently, 80% of faculty members are of foreign nationality. 

The University recruits students from China and abroad at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and also receives exchange students. The overseas students will account for 10% of the total student population.   

Aiming to become a research-led international university, XJTLU has been selected as a supporting unit of The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and member unit of national sci-tech research programs. 

The open campus and its first-class infrastructure provide dynamism and inspiration for the students and staff alike, which further interweave knowledge and wisdom.

The University so far has produced two cohorts of graduates and among each, around 10% were admitted into universities ranking among the best 10 globally.

Located in Suzhou Industrial Park which falls geographically within the “One-hour Economic Circle” in the Yangtze River Delta and has gathered a large number of World Top 500 companies, the University has been able to offer students global internship and employment opportunities.
