XJTLU Global

XJTLU Global is responsible for the recruitment of international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan at undergraduate and postgraduate level, as well as the admission of international undergraduate students. The office provides specialised services for all current and prospective international students.

Main responsibilities

  • Manages the recruitment of international students and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan

  • Coordinates international student accommodation

Programme Management and Quality Assurance Office

Staff in the Programme Management and Quality Assurance Office are committed to safeguarding the standards and quality of programme provision at XJTLU and supporting in the enhancement of student engagement and improvement of student experience in the context of joint venture.

Main responsibilities

  • Provide advice and guidance to staff across the University on the quality issues
  • Support departments and centres in developing new programmes, enhancing provision of current programmes and seeking accreditation from external professional accrediting bodies
  • Responsible for enhancing student engagement in collaboration with other divisions across the university
  • Serve relevant university committees and subcommittees.

The Registry provides support to the academic functions of the University through a range of services to students and staff and
in support of the University’s core activities of teaching and learning. The office is responsible for a range of functions, from managing the data the University holds about students to the academic services for students to support their growth at the University.

Main responsibilities

  • Postgraduate Admissions and Support Team: responsible for the receipt and processing of applications to XJTLU master programmes; providing support and advice to applicants and academic departments; managing registration and induction sessions for new master students and administering master entry scholarship and master tuition fee. Working with other teams in Registry and academic departments, the team is also responsible for coordinating the plan setting and result entry of master students’ additional learning activities.
  • Student Academic Services Team: responsible for administration of the Academic Adviser System; dealing with day-to-day student enquiries; administration of the Progress Committee; hosting programme choice events; hosting or participating in various student induction programmes; and the annual editing and updating of the Student Handbook. It also distributes transcripts and certifications upon student request.
  • Student Administration and Timetabling: responsible for the central management of student records and student administration process throughout student university lifecycle from admission to graduation, including new student enrolment, annual registration and registration status change, tuition fee management, programme and module enrolment, progression and awards processing, academic certificates production, and module questionnaire administration. The team is also responsible for creating and maintaining all teaching timetables for both academic staff and students, and responding to requests for timetable changes.
  • Student Systems and Information: responsible for development and management of the University central student information system (SITS) and its web portal (e-Bridge), including the analysis, development and implementation of new functionality and provision of technical training and support to ensure that students and staff are able to complete tasks on SITS/e-Bridge. The team is also responsible for centralized statistical reporting on student data and acts as the first point of contact for external and internal queries relating to student management information.
  • Assessment Team: in charge of all aspects of work related to examinations and assessment, including scheduling and administration of formal examinations; filing and maintenance of answer scripts; coordination and support of external moderation of exam papers and marking. The team is also responsible for student discipline and appeals relating to examinations and assessment, while other work includes dealing with student mitigating circumstances requests; servicing University exam boards and other relevant academic committees; maintaining student results data; and communication with students regarding the publication of results.
