Back to staff list

I joined XJTLU in August 2008, directly from the University of Liverpool, as a Senior Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering. My current role involves leading a number of modules on the undergraduate degree programme, these include Introduction to Database Systems and Human-Centric Computing. Administrative roles within the department have included the post of ICS Programme Director, Examinations Officer, and member of the Department Learning & Teaching Committee. My research interests are mainly applied and user-focused, including: Human Computer Interaction: Usability; Accessibility; Interactive design paradigms. I have over 30 years of experience in the field of Computing, holding a number of Senior Academic posts in Universities in the UK, as well as conducting Consultancy work for a number of Global Fortune Top 500 companies. Much of this work involved the development of collaborative partnerships worldwide. Recent work at the University of Liverpool included specialist teaching in Database Systems at BSc (Hons) and MSc level, as well as MSc Final Project coordination. Prior to this I worked as a Senior Lecturer and was involved in PhD supervision, Knowledge Transfer Schemes (UK Government funded) and research on EU Framework funded projects.
