Community-led cultural heritage development

From August to October 2014 the project Community-Led Cultural Heritage Development: Extending Suzhou’s Cultural Heritage Tourism Successfully into the Future was conducted in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China. It consisted of interviews among Suzhou artists and culture workers and asked them about their art and the role the city of Suzhou plays in their creative processes. Based on the theory of community-led tourism, it approached, recorded and analysed local artists and art administrator’s views on how such community-led interaction could attract the local public and tourists in Suzhou.
