Department of Public Health

Departments, schools and centres

Established in 2014, the Department of Public Health offers an innovative and comprehensive undergraduate programme designed to provide students with the essential theoretical and practical foundations needed for a successful career working to improve the health and well-being of populations. Our students gain a strong grounding in the life sciences, social sciences and medical humanities in order to develop a transdisciplinary and holistic understanding of the complex processes that contribute to the health of populations in an increasingly globalised world.

The current research of the department is brought directly into the classroom, thus providing an exceptional classroom experience that weds theory with the most current knowledge in public health. Through taught classes, applied coursework, field trips, projects and internships our students are provided with the practical and theoretical tools that are essential to successfully foster the health of local and international populations.
