Documentary filmmaker and academic with research interests in exploitation cinema and forgotten/ obscure film genres and B-movies from across the globe. Studied PhD in Film and Philosophy at Aberdeen University; my doctorate, on the style of American exploitation filmmaking, is being adapted into a book for Edinburgh University Press. My current research interests include the Italian cycle of cannibal-exploitation cinema, resulting in my new book for the Devil's Advocates 'studies in the horror film' range from Auteur Publishing on Cannibal Holocaust (Ruggero Deodato, 1980). In addition, I produced and developed a new feature length documentary on cannibal film actress Me Me Lai, which will be released and distributed in the UK in May. I also continue to work as a film critic.
