IBSS Awards Three Excellent PG Students at Easter Event

International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) held an Easter Event for Master Students to award three prominent PG students. IBSS Dean Professor Sarah Dixon hosted this event.

As IBSS Associate Professor Dr. Xiaoguang Qi was recently awarded Beijing 'Chaoyang Business Talent' Award and he has kindly offered some of his bonus to fund three prizes for Master's students in IBSS, namely, Business Practice Excellence Award, Research Excellent Award and Social Engagement Excellent Award.

Three PG students finally won the awards respectively after nomination, panel meetings and confirmation by Professor Dixon: Philip Annor-Antwi, MSc Operations and Supply Chain Management won Business Practice Excellent Award; Zhe Yuan, MSc Economics, won Research Excellent Award; and Qiong Ji, MSc Economics and Finance, won Social Engagement Excellent Award.

During the event, Dr. Xiaoguang Qi announced the winners' names and reasons why they got the award and Professor Sarah Dixon conferred the awards to each winner.

The three winners performed extremely well in their field. For example, Qiong Ji, finally received the Social Engagement Excellent Award by the reason of nomination as "Qiong works as an intern in Suzhou Wilshire Investment Services Co., Ltd, and acts as the liaison coordinator between IBSS and Wilshire for the signing of MoU and research seminars. She supported the organisation of the opening ceremony of Wilshire Suzhou and was highly praised by the President of Wilshire and Vice Mayor of Suzhou, and because of her good performance in the company, Wilshire is planning to recruit more students from IBSS on the job fair in April.

In addition, Qiong has recommended IBSS research seminars to the Vice Director of Suzhou Industrial Park Investment Promotion Bureau, who is seeking research cooperation opportunities on aging of population with XJTLU now. She also helped to organise the field trip for IBSS student to Shanghai Future Exchange, liaised with management team of local companies like Oriza holdings and SKEMA business school to explore internship opportunities to several IBSS students.
