On April 25, a group of International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) postgraduate students from the School's MSc Investment Management, MSc Finance, and MSc Economics and Finance programmes, enjoyed an excellent lecture on tactical trading of China's A-share stocks.

The lecture is part of a university-wide training programme for the students participating in the second annual National University Finance Competition, organised by DaZhiHui (大智慧), a mainstream financial information and trading platform.

Mr. Yang Yang, an experienced professional who has been working in finance and IT industries for 15 years, delivered the lecture. He first introduced the characteristics and principles of the A-share market, which helped enhance the students' knowledge on trading fundamentals from a practical aspect. He then demonstrated a variety of practical trading techniques.

Students were impressed by the lecture and ready to apply the newly acquired knowledge to the competition. IBSS associate professor Qi Deng facilitated the lecture.

Mr. Yang Yang earned a BSEE degree from Xi'an Jiaotong University, and a MSEE degree from the Pennsylvania State University. He has been a very successful investor in equity, futures and structured products, and has developed highly sophisticated portfolio management tactics.

Mr. Yang closely follows the step of rapidly grown Chinese financial market in recent years. He has conducted research on reforms and restructures of the state-owned enterprises, especially their participation in the equity markets and their M&A activities.
