Speaking in an official launch video, Professor Xi spoke about XJTLU’s “ambitious vision” to become to become a research-led international university in China and a Chinese university recognised internationally. He added that the efforts of all those associated with XJTLU had made “dreams come true” over the past decade.
He also spoke about the theme of the anniversary ‘Imagine 10 plus’, which, he said, “inspired us to reflect on the past 10 years and look forward to the next 10 years. XJTLU will become a truly international university that caters for the future development trends.”
The release of the video marks the start of the anniversary celebrations, which will see a number of activities and events taking place between May and July.
These events include the Annual Conference for Higher Education Innovation 2016, the XJTLU Research Festival and the opening of the University’s new South Campus.
A special 10-year anniversary celebration event will also be held on the XJTLU campus in July.
Meanwhile, students, alumni, staff, partners and fans of the University are being encouraged to share their stories via their favourite social media channels.
Using the hashtag #IMAGINEXJTLU, they are urged to share memories of XJTLU, their success stories, and their wishes to the University for the future. The best posts, videos or photos will win official limited edition XJTLU 10-year anniversary merchandise, which includes t-shirts, mugs and tote bags.
Dedicated anniversary web content has also been published to the University’s brand new mobile-friendly website.

“On behalf of XJTLU, I sincerely invite our staff, alumni, and friends to visit us and celebrate the success of XJTLU...I look forward to seeing you on our beautiful campus!” added Professor Xi in the video.
