XJTLU students awarded scholarships for academic excellence

The scholarship committee at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University met on 14 July 2017 and approved the awarding of academic scholarships for 2017/18 academic year to 557 students, in recognition of their academic achievements during the 2016/17 academic year.
The University offers progression scholarships and retention of entry scholarships to students based on their academic performance in the previous academic year. The progression scholarship is further categorised into two categories – the University Academic Excellence Award and University Academic Achievement Award.
Students whose marks are in the top five percent of the programmes receive a University Academic Excellence Award of 10,000 RMB while students whose marks are in the top 5.1% to 10% of the programmes receive a University Academic Achievement Award of RMB 5,000. In both cases, students must also have achieved an overall average mark of 65 percent. Recipients of the entry scholarships or retained entry scholarships in 2016/17 can retain their scholarship if they continue to rank in the top 25% of their programmes in 2016/17.
This year, 281 students were awarded with University Academic Excellence Award, 253 students the University Academic Achievement Award and 26 students the retention of entry scholarship.
