The Research Institute on Ageing and Society’s mission is to promote cross-disciplinary, cross-regional and cross-national research on the implications of population ageing in order to co-create innovative responses and solutions for the ageing society that will help China to position itself as a global leader in responding to this challenging demographic shift.
Ageing populations have become one of the most challenging global trends with vast cultural, economic, social, and technological consequences. Despite their importance, the implications of this demographic shift still remain under-researched and poorly understood. This is especially true for the case of China, as most research has focussed on advanced countries with different circumstances from China which, in contrast to other ageing societies, is growing old before becoming an economically-advanced country.
The Research Institute on Ageing and Society is an open platform and catalyst for cross-disciplinary research on implications of population ageing.Find out more
