English Teaching Posts

All students study English for their first two years at XJTLU.  The modules are quite different from other Chinese universities where students follow a national curriculum.  Here at XJTLU, the aim is to prepare students to be able to study in English, following a British degree programme.  As such, English for Academic Purposes (EAP) forms the core of the modules and assessments.

ELC is expanding and developing new materials all the time, and we are always interested in hearing from people who may like to become part of our team; whether to teach, undergo further professional development or for research in the areas of EAP and learner autonomy.  There are several different scales for Teachers, Associate Tutors and Teaching Assistants working in the English Language Centre, and there are positions to suit experienced EAP tutors as well as EFL teachers who want to make the transition to EAP.

Applications should be made following the University Application Procedures.  For ELC applications, The one page statement should include you reasons for applying for this post and a summary of how your own experience as a student, your training in language teaching, your experience and interests are relevant.  This statement is a very important part of your application as the information you give will be used in short listing.
