Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), 80 km from Shanghai and a joint venture between China and Singapore, is arguably one of the most successful industrial parks internationally with over 100 Fortune 500 companies invested here and major multinationals like Siemens, L'Oreal, and Nokia are here among the 1,500 foreign firms. SIP is now a truly multi-national community, with nearly 10,000 expatriates coming from more than 20 different countries. Situated on SIP, the University forms part of a purpose-built international community. There are many exciting opportunities for interactions/links between the University and the business community. An advisory committee comprising representatives from major multi-national companies in SIP advises the University on its degree and research programmes to ensure they meet the needs of global manufacturing and service industries. |
