Zhao Wang Ph.D

Associate Professor

Zhao Wang received the BEng in Electronic and Information Engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University, China in 2003 and the Ph.D. in Wireless Communication and Electromagnetics from Queen Mary University of London, UK in 2009, respectively.
Dr. Wang has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Xian Jiaotong-Liverpool University, where she is currently an associate professor, since 2010. Her research interests are antennas and the optimization algorithms, RF & microwave engineering, energy harvesting and wireless power transfer.

  • 4. Wireless / Electromagnetic Energy Harvesting: harvesting ambient EM energy with antennas or antenna array; with front-end matching circuit, RF-DC converting circuit, filtering circuit and storage component, obtaining DC power from RF energy.
  • 3. Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer: transmitting information and power at the same time, especially for low power portable or wearable devices.
  • 2. Wireless Power Supply: low power wireless power supply using inductive coupling and magnetic resonant coupling. Especially for small device wireless charging.
  • 1. Antennas and Radio Propagation On-body: wearable and implanted antennas and radio propagation, ubiquitous computing and communication, communication of wearable or implanted medical devices.
