Our students benefit from the experience of our international academic staff, who actively promote creative, innovative and responsible answers to the questions facing both local and international architecture today.
At XJTLU Architecture we place great emphasis on students developing their creative, critical and analytical thinking skills through direct engagement with the task at hand, with a focus on testing limits through experimentation. These thinking skills enable our students to drive forward new models of architectural practice in the art and science of building, with ideas and approaches informed by both Chinese and Western knowledge traditions.
Students necessarily acquire a solid background in theory of architecture, materials and technology, in view of both technological and aesthetic approaches, in order to forge new avenues for the practice of architecture in China and West.
The department also produces Masterplanning the Future (MPTF), an independent online architecture magazine in China.
