Jing Yang Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr Jing Yang is Assistant Professor in the Department of Architecture at XJTLU. She holds a PhD in architecture at the University of Nottingham. Her research focuses on architectural theory and criticism; phenomenology; tectonics; the relationship between architecture and the body; materiality and perception. Her publication in this field includes one published in Architecture and Culture and two published in Architectural Journal. Before joining XJTLU, she was a teaching assistant in Southeast University and a tutor in BArch Design Studio in the Department of Architecture and Built Environment at the University of Nottingham. Besides academic work, in practice she was an architectural assistant in the China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp.Ltd. and Zhong Dekun Studio. She worked on a number of projects around Chengdu, Nanjing and Suzhou, including Comprehensive Teaching and Laboratory Building of Chengdu University (2010) and Zhang Xing Art Museum (2012).
