Rui Ding PhD

Assistant Professor

Dr Rui Ding is Assistant Professor of Accounting. She holds a PhD in Accounting from the University of New South Wales, a Master of Applied Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University, and a BCom (First Class Honours) from the Australian National University. Prior to earning her graduate degrees, she worked as a Chartered Accountant in Australia.

Rui's research interests lie in the intersections of economics, finance, and accounting, with a focus on the role of information and incentives in financial markets, within and between firms.

Rui teaches and designs curricula in financial accounting and management accounting and supervises postgraduate students. She is a Fellow of Higher Education Academy. She has received multiple teaching awards, including the 2020 IBSS Teaching Excellence Award and first prize in the 2021 International Contest on Blended Teaching & Learning among others.

  • Rui's research spans the fields of financial reporting, management accounting and corporate finance, including corporate disclosure, investment decisions, risk disclosures and management, management controls and inter-firm relationships.

Rui Ding
