ProfileA Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and practitioner in Visual Effects, Post Production, Animation and Film related courses. Jason has been a Course Leader in Visual Effects and associated subjects for over 2 decades. Originally graduated with a degree in Animation, Jason was a stop frame and 2D animator and worked in the Children's Television sector in the UK at the start of his career. Following this time he developed a career in Post Production becoming a sought after technical advisor for the Animation Industry in the South West of England and Wales. After a return to Post Graduate Study, Jason became a lecturer in Computer Animation and Digital Video Design and it is here he developed courses centered around post production and Motion Design. Jason previously ran Undergraduate and Post Graduate award winning degrees in Visual Effects at the University of South Wales in the UK which are accredited by Screen Skills (Skillset). Graduates from his courses have been head hunted by the Industry and gone on to work for major Visual Effects studios around the world with students currently working in Vancouver, Montreal, London, Cardiff and Sydney. Graduate Credits include Avengers End Game, The Jungle Book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Inception, Captain America, Iron Man 2 and Wonder Woman as well as many domestic shows from strong links with Bait Studio, Double Negative and Milk Visual Effects.
Jason is a regular guest speaker at Visual Effects education events and has presented at the FMX conference in Stuttgart, Createch in Mumbai, Screen Alliance Wales education events, UCAS Design your futures and Skillset network events. He has very strong ties with the Post Production Industry, especially in Wales and keeps his broadcast credits up to date by engaging fully in professional projects. Credits include being Film editor for short film broadcasts, most recently "Arth" a short film for S4C and BBC Wales. Feature length credits include Editor for "The Gospel of US" staring Michael Sheen.
