Quality and Leadership in Education – Open Seminar of Perspectives from China and The Netherlands

Globalisation of the world economy and the growing internationalisation have presented opportunities but also real challenges to universities across the world. How can universities not only keep pace with these challenges but stay ahead of them in order to meet the needs of the societies they serve and to ensure that they continue to be relevant to them? The key to answering this lies in ensuring that the focus is on quality and leadership within education.

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University and The Hague University of Applied Sciences hold this seminar together. It intends to provide an insight into approaches from China and The Netherlands through presentations and dialogue with senior staff of The Hague University of Applied Sciences and Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. The seminar gives an opportunity for both partners to present their analysis, assessment and strategies for the present and future reality of higher education in the Chinese and the Dutch context. There is consideration of the universities vision on leadership, research priorities, teaching strategy, internationalisation, quality assurance, digitalisation and other relevant themes that can help to getting to know each other better and develop a common ground for further collaboration.
