A sharing session of how an engineering graduate from the University of Liverpool could ride on the industrial and technology mega trend in his career progression and became the CEO of an American public company, that has invested and succeeded in China. Gordon Hunter has held various leadership positions in high tech companies like Intel, Raychem (part of Tyco Electronics), EloTouch System and the latest 12 years as CEO of Littelfuse. During his tenure as CEO, he has turned Littelfuse from a North American centric company to a truly global company where the sales increased from $300M in 2005 to more than $1.2B in 2017 with improved profitability. The talk is organized as casual sharing where participants are welcome to ask questions. As an alumni of Liverpool University, Gordon is looking forward to sharing his experience with all participants especially the students of XJTLU.

Speaker's Bio

Gordon Hunter is Executive Chairman of Littelfuse, Inc., a global electronics company that offers the broadest line of circuit protection components in the industry. Mr Hunter has served as a Director of the company since June 2002, and joined Littelfuse as Chief Operating Officer in November 2003. He assumed the role of Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Littelfuse on January 1, 2005 to December 31, 2016.

Before joining Littelfuse, Mr Hunter was a Vice President at Intel Corporation, the world's largest chip maker and leading manufacturer of computer, networking and communications products, headquartered in Santa Clara, California. He also served as General Manager of Intel’s Optical Products Group, and was responsible for managing the access and optical communications business segments. Before that, Mr Hunter served as President of EloTouch Systems in Fremont, California, a worldwide leader in the manufacturing and sales of computer touch screens.

Prior to EloTouch Systems, Mr Hunter spent 20 years with Raychem Corporation, a global electronics company headquartered in Menlo Park, California, where he served as Vice President of Commercial Electronics. Throughout his tenure at Raychem, Mr Hunter worked in the United States and Europe, with responsibilities for engineering, sales, marketing and general management.

Mr Hunter received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Liverpool, UK, and his MBA from London Business School. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Veeco Instruments, Inc. where he serves on the Strategic Planning Committee and is the Chairman of the Compensation Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of CTS Corporation, where he serves on the Compensation Committee, Audit Committee and is Chairman of the Technology Committee, and serves on the Board of Directors of Shure Incorporated. He is also an active member of the American Cancer Society’s CEO’s Against Cancer and serves on the Board of Directors of the Lattof YMCA.
