A Career Journey Riding on Global Mega Trend

A sharing session of how an engineering graduate from University of Liverpool in England could ride on the industrial and technology mega trend in his career progression and became the CEO of an American public company that has invested and succeeded in China.

Gordon Hunter has held various leadership positions in high tech companies like Intel, Raychem (part of Tyco Electronics), EloTouch System and the latest 12 years as CEO of Littelfuse. During his tenure as CEO, he has turned Littelfuse from a North American centric company to a truly global company where the sales increased from $300M in 2005 to more than $1.2B in 2017 with improved profitability.

The talk is organised as casual sharing where participants are welcome to ask questions. As alumnus of Liverpool University, Gordon is looking forward to sharing his experience with all participants especially the students of XJTLU.

2017 China-UK Technology & Innovation Forum
Smarter UK: AI and Bio-Pharm Sessions

Innovation China UK (ICUK) was a QMUL-based £5million UK-China collaborative knowledge transfer programme funded by Higher Education Funding Council in England and UK Department for Business, Innovation and Skills. Between 2007-2010, 72 projects in the area of healthcare, materials, engineering and low-carbon technology have been successfully funded by the ICUK Collaboration Development Fund.

Funded by the FCO Prosperity Fund, BIS Global Partnership Fund (GPF) and supported by the UK Science and Innovation Network (SIN), the Technology Partnering Programme has been implemented by ICUK since 2010. In 2015, 46 out of 50 organizations joining ICUK technology partnering programme have responded with further details of their progress with their collaboration and of these 29 reported income-generation.

To improve the collaboration between the British and Chinese companies, XJTLU and OUI is holding the 2017 China-UK Technology & Innovation Forum - Smarter UK: AI and Bio-Pharm Sessions to enhance the communication with the local companies and academics on the research, innovation and talents.

The 3rd Lean & Smart Factory Conference

The Lean Coach Institute will host the 3rd Lean & Smart Factory 2017 Suzhou Annual Conference at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University on 10 December 2017. The annual conference will invite national and international well-known intelligent manufacturing experts to share solutions. Suzhou enterprises will be invited to share their successful cases and show the best practice of intelligent manufacturing.
