Paris Brussels Moscow : projects for great cities, by Prof. Paola Vigano' (5-5:45pm)
Paola Vigano’ is Professor in Urban Theory and Urban Design at Università IUAV di Venezia and Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, where she founded the Laboratory of Urbanism Lab-U. Guest professor at several Design Schools including Harvard Graduate School of Design, she published several papers and books relating design to theory and exploring the strong capacity of the design project to produce knowledge.
In 1990 Viganò founded Studio with Bernardo Secchi and won several international competitions, including visions for some metropolitan areas: the Grand Paris research project, Bruxelles 2040, the New Moscow project. In 2014 she founded her own design studio in Milan and Bruxelles and recently won the international competition for designing the City of Science in Rome. In 2013 she won the Grand Prix de l’Urbanisme et de l’Art Urbain in France.
