This seminar explores the unique value of translation and localization in business operation, with reference to a major Chinese technology product manufacturer. It then moves on to elaborate the organization, goals, processes, talents and methodology of the translation/localization service. Combined with practice, the seminar places a focus on capabilities necessary to qualified translators and discusses modes of translation training in the global world.


Mr. Francois Zhang is Former Chief engineer and principal translator; Former Director of the 2012 Labs, Nanjing Division; Former Senior Manager of Huawei Translation Services Center, Nanjing Section, HUAWEI; and MTI Tutor for Nanjing University, Southeast University, NJUST, NUAA, NJNU, HHU, and Hubei University. His research interests cover GILT (Globalization, Internationalization, Localization and Translation) and management. His selected publications include "The Huawei Manual of Style"; "The Guideline for GUI English"; "The Guideline for Terminology Management".
