The health of populations is a persistent and imperative global concern. We are faced with significant population health challenges that range from rapidly growing and ageing populations to urbanisation, climate change, new patterns of disease, sustainable development, management of man-made and natural disasters, health care financing and health care reforms.

Public health is an interdisciplinary field that seeks to promote and maintain the health, safety and well-being of populations and to prevent and manage disease, disability and human suffering. The interdisciplinary BSc Public Health programme examines population health issues in China as well as in international and global contexts.

This programme is not available on the 2+2 route.

Entry requirements

Public health is a broad field that combines not only medical aspects but also other elements like politics, economics and biology among others. To find the causality is one of the characteristics of public health and is also the main concept that I like most. I have learned many important things and skills such as writing, reading and research, and developed a unique way of thinking from a public health perspective. I have also learned how to view and evaluate things from different levels and how to look deeper when analysing a problem or social issue.
