My ‘Year in China’ at XJTLU has encouraged me to get involved with things I’d usually feel too nervous to do back in Liverpool.

I entered a singing competition for international students, made it to the finals, and ended up coming a close second place. This gave me a huge confidence boost as I’d never sung alone on a stage before or in public with a microphone.

I was then offered to co-host XJTLU’s 2019 International Women’s Day Forum in front of almost 300 people.

These experiences gave me a new sense of self-assurance about my public speaking and performing abilities.

So much so, that I entered another singing competition against students all across XJTLU – fingers crossed I can go one better than last time!
