Many universities in the West have assumed an expanded role in science and technology-based economic development. Central to this role, and particularly important for universities in China is the building of a knowledge hub - a centre that encompasses leadership, programmes, organisational forms and boundary-spanning roles that mediates among academic, educational, entrepreneurial, venture capital, industrial, and public spheres.

The International Innovation Hub is central to a networked approach, capacity building, technology-based entrepreneurial development, and local innovation system leadership.

Made in China 2025

Launching in October 2016, the Made in China 2025 competition will select teams to enter the International Innovation Hub incubator. The teams will receive free space for a year and support from the University in building their innovative idea into a viable business.
