The Department of English is made up of academics actively engaged in research in the areas of linguistics, literature and translation and interpreting studies. Staff members conduct research in applied linguistics and language education, bilingualism, cognitive linguistics, corpus linguistics, discourse analysis, historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, media translation, as well as areas of literature including modernism, cosmopolitanism and romanticism.
