The School of Science conducts research in the areas of modern chemistry, chemical biology, biomedical sciences, biotechnology and bioinformatics, ecology and environmental pollution. Over that last three (3) years, the School of Science consistently produce more than 100 publications annually in highly respected scientific journals and over 30 patents filed, makes a significant contribution to the scholarly outputs of XJTLU.
The faculty have successfully secured more than 5 million (RMB) in external funding and have established extensive collaborations with key industry partners and other academic institutions. We will grow and diversify income to support our research, and the scale of cooperation and external funds are continuously expanding
Our research has led to number of key discoveries and enabled us to form and build new, interdisciplinary research groups within our School of Science and across the campus, such as biomedicine, microbial diversity-ecosystem, chemical biology, environmental pollution and other areas that align with the evolving and ambitious university strategic plan. Our researchers play a major role in these and numerous other cross-campus research initiatives, for instance the XJTLU-JITRI Academy, Taicang campus etc. Our considerable success basic and applied research will be an increasingly important contributor to improving the well-being of our community, fostering financial growth and the enhancing the national and international reputation of excellence at XJTLU.
