博士技能培训课程分为两个不同的模块：一种是由学院提供的核心技能课程；另一种是由西交利物浦和利物浦大学联合提供的个人和职业发展技能培训，该培训课程以西交利物浦大学的各类研讨班和利物浦大学的在线研讨会等形式开展 。
核心技能课程旨在帮助您在所选学科、跨学科或多学科领域内夯实知识基础和技能；个人和职业发展技能培训旨在通过一个或多个主题培训，为您提供个人技能提升的机会，培训主题覆盖研究方法、沟通技能、影响力、道德与行业管理、就业能力、创业精神等。
西交利物浦大学个人和职业发展技能培训由研究生院、教育发展部和英语语言中心设计、开发和授课，涵盖了科研诚信、文章发表、论文答辩等广泛的重要主题。
