Xiaoyang Chen Ph.D.

Assistant Professor

Dr. Xiaoyang Chen is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, School of Advanced Technology at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). He is also the Programme Director for MRes Low Carbon Electrical Power and Energy Technology.

Dr. Chen is a member of the IEEE-PES society and serves in the IEEE ISVC Group. He has published a series of scientific papers on top journals, e.g., IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL ELECTRONICS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON INDUSTRIAL INFORMATICS, APPLIED ENERGY, and RENEWABLE ENERGY. He has also been an invited reviewer for the above journals.

Dr. Chen has received multiple research funds from academia and industry. His research interests include solar forecasting, photovoltaic power systems, machine learning, and smart grid. Applications for research assistants and PhD positions are very welcome.
