Traditional building design/construction was largely reliant upon 2D technical drawings (plans, elevations, sections, etc.). Building information modeling extends this beyond 3D, augmenting the three primary spatial dimensions (width, height and depth) with time as the fourth dimension (4D) and cost as the fifth (5D). More recently there are also references to a sixth dimension (6D) representing building environmental and sustainability aspects, and a seventh dimension (7D) for through-life facility management. In this talk, a brief introduction to the project SZH208 (new office building of Bosch in Suzhou) will be given, followed by a focus of BIM applications at design/construction/hand-over phases. The design clash/optimization, using BIM, will be discussed, covering aspects of structure, electric, plumping, MEP and façade.
主讲人Mr. Liang Qian
Mr. Liang Qian is department manager of corporate real estate and facilities in Bosch (China). He has worked in Bosch Group for about 13 years, including 11 years in corporate real estate and 2 years in facility management, with plentiful experiences in construction industry and real estate field. His role covers site selection, factory layout planning, building refurbishment, governmental approval, construction of office building, factories and test track, facility maintenance among others. His work also includes design coordination, cost and budget control, governmental permit, purchasing of construction services, time/quality and safety management on site and final handover internally to clients. He has served as an internal client in more than 20 locations in China, with oversea experience as well in facility management and construction projects in Germany, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Australia and India.
