In recent years, silicon integrated circuits (IC) have dominated the most market in electronic devices. However, it is hard to further downsize devices due to physical limitations. The “Molecular State Device Materials” has been considered as one of the most attractive candidates for application in the next generation of sub-20 nm devices. The researches on molecular devices could not only result in new and unforeseen technologies but also provide the probability to break the physical limitation of siliconbased device miniaturization. This talk will focus on the EGaIn measurement system for the charge transport properties in asymmetric based large area self-assembled monolayers (SAMs). The soft liquid-metal EGaIn can prevent the damage of electrical contact when it connects with SAMs. Moreover, the liquid property of EGaIn makes it easy to be shaped into a tip with 20-30 microns diameter by a microupgraded syringe. These advantages of the EGaIn system provide a rapid measurement of molecular conductance.
