Machine translation (MT), as a typical and practical application of natural language processing (NLP), has been developed greatly with other NLP technologies in recent years in the era of artificial intelligence (AI). The development also speeds the growth of the related subjects and industry. Language learning and studies is one of the beneficiaries. Where will language learning and studies go next along with MT? How to integrate machine translation into language studies? The basic concepts, the state-of-the-art NLP technologies and the challenges will be introduced and analysed, and the merging of NLP and language studies will be proposed in this talk.
