Knowledge and skills
By the time you graduate from the BA TV Production programme, you will have:
- full awareness of your creative potential as a content developer and programme maker;
- the ability to apply your knowledge and expertise in the television and media industry;
- knowledge of programme planning, project marketing, pre-production, and production;
- the ability to research and critically analyse work from a market-oriented perspective;
- practical communication skills for presenting professional work effectively; and
- the ability to produce work informed by longstanding theoretical issues and local and global market trends.
The BA TV Production programme develops students' creative and critical thinking skills and applies them to programme production. Students create a range of television and streaming media shows in our industry-standard television studio, and produce on-location shows such as game shows and variety shows. Modules

UK degrees are three years long whereas in China they are four, therefore we do accept students with certain qualifications directly into Year Two, which is the start of the main academic programme. Most students, however, enter into Year One, which provides you with a range of interesting modules, language classes and core skills for your degree.
Some people dream of becoming directors, some producers and others screenwriters. With the guidance and education provided by SoFTA, we are empowered to create our future and become 'someone' in our chosen fields. I have access to modern facilities, diverse classmates and inspirational teachers who not only teach me about TV Production, but also about life.
