TV Production

Overview

Television production and online entertainment industries are expanding globally. With more and more channels and online platforms emerging, audiences always expect new content. BA TV Production aims to develop students’ skills and knowledge in programme planning and production. It also strengthens their understanding of social media and the field of short videos, while providing a solide foundation in research theory within TV entertainment, short video production, social media, and communication.

The programme covers theoretical knowledge of productions and communications theory, encompassing various genres including reality shows, variety shows, game shows, and magazine programmes. These productions may be filmed on the spot or produced in the School of Film and TV Arts’ advanced TV studio. BA TV Production equips students with professional skills, knowledge and cutting-edge industry technology to help them achieve their career goals.

BA TV Production is an industry-focused programme that actively involves students in programme planning, pre-production, shooting, development, publicity, directing, and post-production of TV shows. Throughout your studies, you will learn the skills necessary for entertainment programme production and short video production. Additionally, you will gain knowledge about various platforms including television, the internet, social media, and more.

Modules

UK degrees are three years long whereas in China they are four, therefore we do accept students with certain qualifications directly into Year Two, which is the start of the main academic programme. Most students, however, enter into Year One, which provides you with a range of interesting modules, language classes and core skills for your degree.

Some people dream of becoming directors, some producers and others screenwriters. With the guidance and education provided by SoFTA, we are empowered to create our future and become 'someone' in our chosen fields. I have access to modern facilities, diverse classmates and inspirational teachers who not only teach me about TV Production, but also about life.
