Alumni discount

If you are a graduate of XJTLU, the University of Liverpool or Xi’an Jiaotong University, you will automatically receive a discount of 20 percent of the tuition fee.

Please note that the alumni discount could not be accumulated with the XJTLU entry scholarship.

Scholarships

XJTLU offers a range of scholarships to talented applicants joining the full-time masters programmes. Currently, there is no scholarship available for part-time programmes.

1)Masters entry scholarship

Deadline: 1 June 2025

We offer a partial entry scholarship of 20, 30 or 50 percent of the total programme tuition fee for all full-time masters programmes based on academic merit.

full scholarship will be considered for a few applicants with outstanding academic merit and research potential for Masters of Research Programmes. The awardees’ tuition fees will be fully waived.

Applicants from the following MRes programmes are eligible for the full scholarship application:

  • MRes Advanced Chemical Sciences
  • MRes Advanced Microelectronic Technology and Materials
  • MRes Bioinformatics
  • MRes Computer Science
  • MRes Environmental Sciences
  • MRes Low Carbon Electrical Power and Energy Technology
  • MRes Management
  • MRes Materials Science and Engineering
  • MRes Medicinal Chemistry
  • MRes Molecular Bioscience
  • MRes Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems
  • MRes Pharmaceutical Sciences

How to apply

If you intend to apply for a Master’s Entry Scholarship, which is only available for full-time studies, you should indicate your interest in the online programme application process, fill in the section of the Master Scholarship Application, upload your scholarship supporting documents along with your other documents when you submit the master application online.

To complete the section of the Master Scholarship Application, you are required to write a brief justification with no more than 200 words to explain why you should be considered for the XJTLU masters scholarship and list up to 10 achievements (if any), for example, published papers, awards, research projects, related internship experience, etc., which may contribute to your scholarship application.

Please note that you must indicate your interest in the online programme application process and fill in the section of the Master Scholarship Application at the time of submitting your programme application online in order to apply for the masters entry scholarship. Otherwise, you will not be considered for the scholarship. Subsequent applications will not be considered as well.

 

2) XJTLU Masters ‘BRI Friendship’ scholarships

Deadline: 1 June 2025

The XJTLU Masters ‘BRI Friendship’ scholarships are offered to international students from countries on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, or international students who live in the Chinese mainland at the time of application in recognition of the contribution these students make to the international environment of XJTLU’s campus.

The ‘BRI Friendship’ scholarships will be awarded up to the value of 30 percent of the total programme tuition fee.

Eligibility

Applicants must be residents from countries on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, or international students who live in the Chinese mainland at the time of application and meet the minimum entry requirements.

How to apply

Please indicate your interest in the online programme application process, fill in the section of the Master Scholarship Application and upload your scholarship supporting documents (if any) via the online application system in order to be considered for the ‘BRI Friendship’ scholarship.

 

3)Government Talent Selection programme for students studying the Masters in sustainable construction

Deadline: 1 June 2025

The aim of this scholarship is to create the next generation of civil engineering professionals to support infrastructural development, especially through the Belt and Road Initiative.

This government scholarship will waive the full tuition fee and provide a basic living allowance to support students during the 18-month programme, including free Chinese language classes.

Eligibility

  • Only available for applicants to the full-time MSc Sustainable Construction programme
  • Be a non-Chinese national
  • Meet all the admission criteria for the programme
  • Be under 30 years of age at the start of the programme (September 2025)
  • Live outside China at the time of application (or be an international student at a university in Jiangsu Province)

How to apply

Please indicate your interest in the online programme application process, fill in the section of the Master Scholarship Application and upload your scholarship supporting documents (if any) via the online application system in order to be considered for the TSP scholarship.

All XJTLU masters scholarship applications will be reviewed regularly during the Masters Scholarship Panel Meeting in January, March, May and July.

XJTLU masters scholarships are merit-based and highly competitive. You are encouraged to apply early for admission to XJTLU masters programmes to ensure the availability of scholarship opportunities. Late applications will not be considered.
