The Category Normalised Citation Impact (CNCI) for all publications from XJTLU is 1.36. XJTLU’s CNCI was higher than global and China’s CNCIs in each of the past 5 years (2021-2025), indicating that XJTLU’s outputs received more citations than the global and China’s baselines.
As of January 2026, there are 7 fields for XJTLU entering the Top 1% worldwide in the ESI rankings, namely Engineering, Computer Science, Social Science (General), Environment/Ecology, Economics & Business, Chemistry and Materials Science.
Collaborations bring diverse expertise to tackle global problems. For researchers and their institutions, publishing collaborative works can also increase the visibility of the research. As a Sino-foreign joint venture university, XJTLU takes advantage of resources from three universities in two countries and actively publishes collaborative works. In the past five years (2021-2025), XJTLU has published 3788 publications through international collaboration.
