International Business School Suzhou

I am delighted to welcome you to the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS), the Triple Crown accredited business school at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) and the largest English-language business school in China.

IBSS features five academic departments spanning a wide range of business roles and activities, namely Accounting (ACC), Finance (FIN), Economics (ECO), Intelligent Operations and Marketing (IOM) and Strategic Management and Organisations (SMO). Through these five departments, the school offers 20+ undergraduate and postgraduate programmes to nearly 6,000 students, including the International MBA, MRes and PhD programmes.

Our 180+ full-time academic staff are an impressive mix of top international researchers and experienced business professionals, all of whom have earned doctorate degrees from highly reputable international institutions and/or gained professional experience abroad. Our international DNA enables IBSS to serve as a  bridge between China and the world by combining the analytical approach to Western education with the holistic approach found in the East. We offer a 2+2 track with the University of Liverpool, a one-year exchange programme with Xi’an Jiaotong University, and a range of pre- and post-graduation exchange programmes with our international partner institutions. The result is a unique learning experience that includes the development of soft skills and concept awareness for sustainability and social responsibility. Upon graduation, our students join a global network of IBSS alumni in a diverse range of roles and industries in China and abroad and continue to benefit from our lifelong learning opportunities.

IBSS is dedicated to advancing multidisciplinary research across all areas of business and management,  ensuring that our research outcomes are translated into applied business solutions for our business community. Situated in the vibrant and innovative SIP business district, home to thousands of companies, including 120+ Fortune 500 companies, the school offers a range of customised and open-enrolment executive education programmes. As a 2023 UN Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) Champion, the first and only in the country, IBSS is dedicated to driving impact creation in Responsible Management Education (RME) across China.
