Apply for a scholarship for an existing funded PhD project
You can apply for an existing PhD project which has received funds from the University or external funding bodies. These projects have an established research topic and a formed supervisory team. You can check the below list of funded PhD project for information about specific projects available or contact potential supervisors to discuss funding opportunities. These projects are remain open until the position is filled. The start date of the programme is normally the first day of March, June, September, or December. Please note the reference number with* refers to PhD project collaborated with industry.

Apply for PhD Merit-Based Scholarship
This type of scholarship is intended to support candidates with outstanding research potential. Prospective applicants seeking consideration for a merit-based scholarship may indicate their interest when submitting their application to the university’s doctoral programmes.
The school and University’s Postgraduate Research Scholarship Panel will conduct a comprehensive evaluation based on the applicants’ academic excellence, research potential, research experience, and achievements, and will recommend the most qualified candidates for the award.

It is a condition of the award that full scholarship holders are required to undertake a Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant role; while these positions are also available for fees-only scholarship holders and partial tuition-fee scholarship holders, who will be paid with university standard.
Scholarships are available for full-time study only, and there are currently no scholarships available for part-time programmes.
