Dean of the School of International Education, Xi’an Jiaotong University
Professor Guangrui Wen is a Professor and doctoral supervisor at Xi’an Jiaotong University.
He is engaged in research on intelligent detection, fault diagnosis, and health management of high-end equipment such as aircraft engines and gas turbines for aerospace applications. He has led over 40 projects, including major fundamental research projects under the National Major Science and Technology Program for Aero-Engines and Gas Turbines, the National Key R&D Program, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China.
He has published four academic monographs, including Multiple Sensing-driven Feature Extraction and Defect Detection (Springer, 2025) and New Generation Artificial Intelligence-Driven Diagnosis and Maintenance Techniques (Springer, 2022), and over 200 SCI-indexed papers in journals such as Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing (MSSP), IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, and IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, and holds over 70 authorised national invention patents and software copyrights.
His research achievements have received seven provincial and ministerial science and technology awards, including first prize in the China Light Industry Federation Science and Technology Awards (2021), first prize in the Science and Technology Awards of Shaanxi Province (2015), second prize in the Science and Technology Awards of Shaanxi Province (2012), second prize in the China Machinery Industry Science and Technology Awards (2012), and second prize in the Guangdong Science and Technology Awards (2010).
He has been recognised as a National Leading Talent under the National High-Level Talent Special Support Program (2022), an Outstanding Representative of the “100 Scientists and 100 Outstanding Grassroots Scientific Workers” by the China Association for Science and Technology (2018), a recipient of the Ministry of Education’s “Program for New Century Excellent Talents in University” (2013), as well as the Shaanxi Provincial Youth Science and Technology Award (2015), the Youth Science and Technology Award of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering (2014), the Youth Science and Technology Achievement Award of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (2013), and the Outstanding Communist Party Member of Shaanxi Higher Education Institutions (2014).
In addition to serving as Dean of Xi’an Jiaotong University’s School of International Education, Professor Wen is also Deputy Director of the National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for Equipment Operation Safety Assurance and Intelligent Monitoring, Deputy Director of Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Modern Design and Rotor-Bearing Systems, Director of Xi’an Jiaotong University Intelligent Equipment Research Institute for Ophthalmic Optics, Director of Shenzhen Shuanghe Joint Laboratory for Mechatronics Equipment Health Management, and Senior Visiting Scholar at the University of Liverpool, UK.
He is a council member of the Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering; Vice Chair of the Dynamic Testing Professional Committee, Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering; standing council member of the Rotor Dynamics Committee, Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering; council member of the Fault Diagnosis Professional Committee, Chinese Society for Vibration Engineering; and a council member of the Shaanxi Mechanical Engineering Society.
Professor Wen is also a member of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society; an Editorial Board Member of the Journal of Vibration Engineering, Journal of Vibration, Measurement & Diagnosis, and Noise and Vibration Control.
He is a council member of the China Education Association for International Exchange; Vice Chair of the Committee for International Student Education Management, China Association of Higher Education; Vice Chair of the International Medical Education Branch, China Education Association for International Exchange; Expert for the Quality Certification of International Students in China, China Education Association for International Exchange; and a Project Review Expert for the Chinese Government Scholarship Program, China Scholarship Council.
