Professor Xiaobo Xu is Director of the HeXie Management Research Centre and Executive Dean of the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs. He obtained his BE in Management Engineering from East China University of Science and Technology in China and his PhD in Management Information Systems from the University of Mississippi in the US. He has over 20 years of international academic experience across the United States, the Middle East, and China.

From 2005 to 2020, he was Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and then Professor at American University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates (UAE). Since joining XJTLU in 2020, he has held several leadership positions at International Business School Suzhou (IBSS), including Associate Dean, Head of the Department of Strategic Management and Organisation, and Head of the Department of Intelligent Operations and Marketing.

His primary research interests include information systems project management, eco-management, business model innovation, digital transformation, research methodologies, shared economy, and supply chain management. He has published over 50 articles in internationally leading and prestigious journals, including the British Journal of Management, Decision Support Systems, Journal of Business Research, International Journal of Operations and Production Management, Project Management Journal, Information Technology Management, Information Systems Frontiers, International Journal of Information Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, Internet Research, and the Data Base for Advances in Information Systems, underscoring his significant academic contributions. He has been invited to deliver many talks and seminars at universities including the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences; Zhejiang University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen; and South China University of Technology, all in China, and Abu Dhabi University and Qatar University in the Middle East. He has received both internal and external research funds. He has also provided consulting services to firms in the UAE and China.
