Abstract

The core piece of this workshop is a generative art project based on particle systems and fluid simulation effects. Our work revolves around the concept of "individual + collective interaction," where audience input (mouse, touch, sound, camera, etc.) generates unique particle patterns. These individual creations then merge into a continuously evolving dynamic visual display. Through this process, we aim to explore how personal creations integrate into collective co-creation and showcase the limitless possibilities of generative art in digital media.

Workshop Content:

Individual Artwork Creation: Participants will create their own generative art pieces using p5.js via a web-based interface on a computer, tablet, or phone. They can interact using a mouse, touchscreen, voice input, etc., and save their artwork to their devices or print it.

Collective Artwork: Each individual's creation will dynamically influence a shared large-scale artwork displayed on a projection wall/screen in real-time.

Live Dynamic Display: Participants will witness how their work contributes to the collective piece, enhancing their sense of belonging and interactive experience.

Introduction to Generative Art & p5.js Coding Principles: A brief educational session on the fundamentals of generative art and the underlying p5.js code.
