Topic: The Role of Chemistry in Drug Discovery, Research, and Development

Details

Drug discovery research and development is a vast interdisciplinary field within the pharmaceutical industry. It combines a broad range of scientific and technological disciplines, including chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, clinical studies, and statistics. Chemistry plays an essential role in small molecule drug discovery and development, from early-stage hit generation to late-stage lead optimization, and from clinical candidate process research to commercial product manufacturing. This seminar will introduce the entire process of drug discovery and development phases, highlighting the applications of chemistry at each stage.
