Title: Causal Inference Methods and Applications in Economics
Abstract of the presentation:
In empirical economics, overcoming challenges such as sample selection, endogeneity, and dynamic responses to shocks is crucial for identifying causal effects and generating credible results. This workshop introduces three advanced econometric methods—Heckman Sample Selection Model, Granular Instrumental Variables, and Local Projections—that are widely used to tackle these challenges in economic research. This workshop provides a good opportunity to explore their theoretical foundations, practical applications, and relevance to real-world economic problems.
