The 5th IBSS (Suzhou) - CoME (Tianjin) Finance Workshop

The 5th IBSS (Suzhou) - CoME (Tianjin) Finance Workshop will take place on 19 October 2025 at Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, bringing together leading scholars to advance research collaboration in finance.

This high-quality joint workshop continues the prestigious collaboration between the College of Management and Economics (CoME), Tianjin University—one of China's top 985 universities—and International Business School Suzhou (IBSS), XJTLU. The workshop has been held successfully in 2021 and 2023 at XJTLU, and 2022 and 2024 at Tianjin University. This fifth edition marks another milestone in our ongoing partnership with this elite institution.

The workshop features an exciting programme of rigorous and high-quality research presentations, covering a wide range of topics from corporate governance and social responsibility, market microstructure and investor behavior, risk management and stock price dynamics, to fraud detection and financial text analysis. Esteemed scholars from prominent institutions such as Tianjin University, Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, Dalian University of Technology, and Zhengzhou University will share their latest findings, while experienced discussants from top academic and research institutions will enrich the conversation with their critical insights.

We are pleased to announce that two Best Paper Awards will be presented at the workshop, each with a prize of 1,500 RMB (before tax) per paper, recognizing outstanding research contributions to the field.

This collaboration will further strengthen our strategic partnership with Tianjin University, reinforcing our commitment to academic excellence. The main idea of this workshop is to provide an opportunity to collaborate and promote cutting-edge research in these areas domestically and globally. We look forward to fostering meaningful academic exchanges and building lasting research partnerships between IBSS and CoME.
