On 27th April, second-year students majoring in Internet of Things (IoT) visited the Kunshan Manufacturing Center of Advantech, the global leader in industrial IoT and industrial PC solutions. The visit aimed to deepen students' understanding of the complete industrial chain—from R&D and intelligent manufacturing to application deployment.

The visit began with a comprehensive corporate briefing. Students learned about Advantech’s 40-plus years of industry heritage, its leading position in the global industrial PC market, and its vision of "Enabling an Intelligent Planet." This session provided valuable context on the company’s strategic direction and market influence.
Students were then introduced to Advantech’s cutting-edge applications across smart healthcare, smart city management, port automation, and end-to-end AIoT solutions. These real-world cases vividly illustrated how IoT technologies empower digital transformation across diverse industries, broadening students’ perspectives on potential career applications.

The most impactful part of the visit was the guided tour of the modern production workshop. Students observed automated assembly lines and the full manufacturing process of IoT devices—from precision component mounting and system integration to rigorous multi-stage quality inspections. They witnessed first-hand how each device undergoes functionality verification, environmental reliability tests, and performance calibration before leaving the factory. The lean management practices, standardized dust-free workshop environment, and digitalized full-process traceability system left a strong impression.
This visit provided students with a tangible understanding of the complete industrial IoT chain, covering R&D, intelligent manufacturing, and scenario-based applications. It not only enriched their professional perspective but also strengthened their interest and awareness of innovation in industrial IoT technologies.
