1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

On 24 April, students and faculty from the School of IoT visited the Kunshan Industrial Metaverse Center for a field study. This center is the first strategic collaboration project between Kunshan and Microsoft China. Its mission is to provide Microsoft‘s industrial metaverse empowerment to enterprises in China, accelerate intelligent upgrades and digital transformation, and build an industrial metaverse ecosystem based on Microsoft’s products and technologies.

During the visit, center staff guided students through the first-floor exhibition area and provided detailed introductions to the industrial metaverse applications and intelligent technology displays from Microsoft and its partners. The exhibition area features an immersive layout, with dedicated zones such as a Microsoft immersive experience area, an AI smart experience zone, an IoT demonstration area, and an industrial metaverse immersive space, enhanced by MR equipment that delivers a strong sense of visual immersion.

The staff demonstrated several cutting-edge technology application cases. In the AI domain, Microsoft‘s generative AI technology showcased how it empowers smart manufacturing across product design, production process optimization, and supply chain management. In Mixed Reality (MR), display cases covering remote equipment maintenance, 3D holographic blueprint visualization, and digital exhibition hall construction helped students understand how MR technology can effectively reduce enterprise training and operational costs. The XR and digital twin technology display area also drew students’ attention, where they observed real-time monitoring and simulation optimization of factory production lines through digital twin technology.

The exhibits included innovative achievements from resident startups such as Yichivision and Jentech in AIGC+XR integration and industrial metaverse platform development. Breakthroughs in embodied AI and humanoid robotics were also highlights, with live demonstrations of core application scenarios in smart manufacturing and advanced service robotics, revealing the promising future of deep integration between AI and the physical world.
